Shoplifter Conceals “butt” In Pants

   A shoplifter apprehended by employees at a Lawrenceburg grocery store had reportedly attempted to conceal a roast in his pants before exiting the business.

   Lawrenceburg Police Officers were called to Super Rama, 818 North Locust Avenue, shortly after 1:00 p.m. Sunday after employees noticed the man’s less than flawless attempts at shoplifting.

   Employees told officers that the suspect had attempted to conceal a Boston butt pork roast inside his pants and leave the store with it. The meat was valued at $8.26.

   Store officials indicated they would pursue prosecution in the case. Rickey Lee Griggs, 39, of 300 High Street, Waynesboro, was placed under arrest on charges of shoplifting, and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

   Griggs is scheduled for an initial court appearance in Lawrenceburg City Court on July 20.
