Victim Says Overnight Intruder Stole Meds

Police officers are looking into allegations that an overnight intruder stole medication from an Oak Street home.

The fifty-nine year old victim reported to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that he had been sleeping on the couch in his living room around 2:45 Monday morning when he awakened to find a man inside his apartment.

He said he watched as the man took his prescription bottles from a nightstand, then return it. He said after the man left he checked his bottles and found that 35 methadone pills and 90 valium were missing. The medications were worth around $150.

The victim told officers that the man who had entered his apartment was a neighbor, and that he had been told not to be back inside his home. He said that he may have inadvertently left the door unlocked. Officers found no signs of forced entry.
