TOWN CREEK
FIREFIGHTERS LOSE FIRE TRUCK BATTLING WHEAT FIRE

The extreme summer heat has brought about some wheat fires in the Town Creek Community.

Thursday afternoon firefighters lost one of their main fire trucks to a field of burning wheat on Donald Church Road in Lawrence County around 3:30 pm.
First responders tell us no one was injured in the incident.

Fire Chief Donna Campbell told Shoals Insider this was their first out truck that they use on house fires.
Campbell stated she hopes the insurance will make a partial payment for a replacement.

A new pumper truck costs around $350,000.
