Foot Chase Leads To Arrest Of Suspect

A foot chase in the area of North End Market Saturday lead to the arrest of a Lawrenceburg man for driving on a suspended driver license.

A Lawrenceburg Police Officer on patrol reports that he noticed a driver pulling into North End Market. The officer had prior knowledge that the driver’s license had been suspended.

When the driver saw the police officer, he reports that the man exited the 1992 Plymouth Voyager on the passenger side, and fled on foot.

The officer gave chase and reports he quickly caught up to the man and ordered him to stop. He indicates that the man did comply.

As a result of the incident the driver, thirty-nine-year-old Steven D. Simpson of 310 Hoover Street, Lawrenceburg, was placed under arrest on charges of driving on a suspended driver license. Because he had already been cited on similar offenses, Simpson was booked on the charge through the Lawrence County Jail.

Simpson is scheduled to answer the charge through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on August 6, 2009.
