Expect A Hot Weekend

The National Weather Service in Nashville announced Wednesday that we would have a hot weekend.

Extreme caution is advised for "heat and humidity" this weekend. Although record temps appear unlikely, highs each day through the weekend will reach the low to mid 90's, humidity levels will be high and make it feel more uncomfortable.

The heat index each afternoon will push near 100.

If you plan being outdoors this weekend, take measures to be prepared for heat stress. Some suggestions:

Drink plenty of non alcoholic fluids

Wear lite weight and light colored clothing

Take frequent breaks in the shade and try to avoid sunburn.

In addition to the heat, the National Weather Service says scattered thunderstorms will pose a risk through the weekend. Lightining is a danger with all thunderstorms.

Some thunderstorms could produce locally strong winds.
