Voting Precincts To Be Consolidated

   In an effort to cut costs and unnecessary manpower, members of the Lawrence County Election Commission have voted to consolidate a number of voting precincts throughout the county.

   Citing low voter turnout and a downturn in the economy, members of the election commission indicate that the following consolidations will be made:

*Fall River Precinct will be consolidated with Crossroads Precinct

*Brace will be combined with Howards

*Henryville will be consolidated with the Center Precinct

*Midwest and Pea Ridge Precincts will be combined with the West End Precinct

*Old Armory will be consolidated with Ingram Sowell Precinct.

   Voters affected by the changes will receive notification and new voter registration cards by mail.
