Storms With A Punch

For the past couple days, afternoon storms have produced quite a punch with reports of hail and winds strong enough to down trees, power lines and in Leoma up end a large tent at Story & Lee Furniture.  According to an observer, strong winds broke the ropes and braces on the tent breaking a window and sending one of the tent poles several hundred feet over the backside of the store and down through the roof into the showroom floor.  No one was injured.

Wednesday afternoon another storm down trees knocking out power for some in the west end of Lawrence County.  Wind in the 60mph range brought trees down blocking several roads in the Deerfield community.  Lawrenceburg Utility workers were sent to the Big Springs Road area to repair lines due to the storm.
