 Friday Crime Report

Theft

Police officers were called to a Russell Avenue home last week regarding the theft ten bundles of shingles. The victim, age 56, reported that he had left the bundles of green Timberline shingles beneath a carport at the home. He said they had a value of $300.

Aggravated burglary

A resident of Belew Drive filed a complaint with police officers last week after finding that someone had burglarized his home. He told officers that he and his wife had been camping. He said they returned to feed their animals and find that the front door had been pried open. Several items were reported missing including jewelry, old coins, $10 in change, and several bottles of medicine. Total loss was approximately $810.

Burglary

Officers are looking into a burglary that occurred at a at a Groh Street home Saturday. The resident reported that he had been away between 11:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. that day. He returned to find the front door standing open. Although several drawers were left open he was unable to identify any damage or anything missing.

Aggravated burglary

Burglars targeted a home on Claymar Drive Saturday making off with a bottle of perfume and $100 in cash. The resident reported that she returned to her home shortly after 3:00 a.m. to find it in a state of disarray. The culprit had rummaged around in every room. A window had been pushed in and broken and fresh pry marks were found around the front door. The resident reported that a bottle of Captain Morgan spiced rum had been removed from the freezer and consumed or poured out; the empty bottle placed in a garbage can. Altogether the resident estimated damages and loss to total $2,100.
