The Loretto High School band members board their buses today for their long awaited trip to Washington, DC, as they receive an escort to the county line.

The Loretto High school band is leaving this morning at 6:00 a.m. for the 12 hour trip to Washington, DC.

Local police, sheriff’s departments, fire department, members of the community, and a local pastor will give them a proper send off also prayers for safe travels today.

Lawrenceburg Utility Systems gave the band a bucket truck salute, and they received an escort to the county line.

The whole county is very proud of Loretto High school band members for their hard work, and being invited to represent the state of Tennessee in the National Memorial Day Parade where they will march up Constitution Avenue in Washington.

Even after being invited to represent the state this local high school band raised $60,000 for the trip.

The National Memorial Day Parade will be Monday, May 27 at 2 p.m. Eastern.
