Council Calls For November Election
Members of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council have voted to schedule the next city election on Thursday, November 4, 2014.
Council members voted on the resolution during their regular bi-monthly business meeting Thursday morning. The resolution was for the council to call for the election of mayor and council seats 1 and 2.
In accordance with the city’s charter council members voted to scheduled the election on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, to coincide with the November General Election.
Interested parties may pick up qualifying documents at the offices of the Lawrence County Election Commission on Centennial Boulevard beginning May 23. To qualify, all documentation must be returned by the deadline of noon on August 21.
All three seats carry a four year term. Those elected will serve until December 15, 2018.
