Summertown Wins State

The Summertown Eagles have been crowned the State Baseball Champions, taking the title in extra innings Friday in Murfreesboro.

Summertown defeated Riverside out of Decatur County to claim the Class A baseball championship at MTSU Friday afternoon.

The Eagles won over Decatur County 3 to 2 in 8 innings. Summertown went undefeated through the state tournament, defeating Monterey on Tuesday, Jackson Christian on Wednesday, and Cascade on Thursday to make it to the championship game. Summertown is coached by Greg Burleson.
