Lawrence County Sheriff's department warn citizens of possible PayPal scam.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's department was alerted to a possible scam by a victim who had contacted PayPal.

The victim had called PayPal from his App. on his phone unfortunately the call was discounted, and that's when he was contacted right back by someone he believed to be PayPal.

He was instructed to purchase gift cards to transfer money, but after the victim did this the money was not transferred to the intended person.

The victims total value loss was $500.
