Short Agenda For Tuesday’s County Commission Meeting

   Members of the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners meeting in regular session on Tuesday have only a few items of business to consider.

   The panel will consider approval of amendments to the Lawrence County and Lawrence County Board of Education budgets for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. Members are also asked to approve a Doubles and Errors Report for 2011 taxes.

   On the agenda is a resolution to authorize the submission of an application for a Litter and Trash Collecting Grant through the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

   Commissioners will consider declaring Offices of Constable of the Middle Constable District of Lawrence County as vacant for failure to provide a surety bond.

   The last item appearing on the agenda for the Tuesday, May 28 meeting is a resolution to create a Property Tax Freeze Study Committee. The committee would be tasked with analyzing the feasibility of implementing a Tax Freeze Program for eligible taxpayers.

   The meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled to get underway at 5:00 p.m. inside the commission meeting room at the Lawrence County Courthouse.
