Resident Reports Debit Card Number In Use Over Seas
A resident of Summertown filed a complaint with Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies Thursday, indicating that someone had been accessing her checking account from overseas.
The resident of Monument Circle told deputies that she had been contacted by her bank regarding the matter. Bank of America officials reported that her card number had been used “in another country” on Tuesday to make a $48 purchase.
Three separate attempts to access her account were made on Wednesday, bank officials reported, however these transactions were not approved.
The victim told deputies that the matter remains under investigation by officials with the Bank of America Fraud Division.
