Victim Finds Her Stolen Bicycles Plus One More
A woman who reported three bicycles missing last weekend ended up finding not only her bikes but a fourth one, as well.
An officer with the Lawrenceburg Police Department reports that he had been flagged down by a man on Massey Avenue at around 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
He told the officer that someone had stolen his son’s bicycle from the rear of their duplex. He indicated that the crime had occurred within the past few hours.
While the officer was driving around, looking for the bicycle he was flagged down by a second person. She reported that she had observed three male juveniles steal three bicycles from beneath the stairwell at her apartment. She said that the boys had fled, heading westbound on Paradise Street.
Shortly after making the report the woman found one of the bicycles abandoned a short distance from her home.
She continued to look and notified authorities that she had located three abandoned bicycles in the area of Ingram Sowell School.
The officer reports that he was able to return the stolen bicycle to the Massey Avenue resident, as well.
