Statutory Rape Charge Lodged Against Lawrence County Woman
Lawrence County Sheriff Jimmy Brown announced Wednesday that charges of statutory rape have been issued against a Lawrence County woman.
In a press release, Brown reported that Wendy 
Katherine Packer, age 42, of 125 Osie Drive had been incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center on a charge of aggravated statutory rape.
The department received complaints about an inappropriate sexual relationship between Packer and a fifteen year old minor child. Brown said that evidence was collected during the investigation, supporting the allegations.
According to Brown, evidence of other criminal activity was uncovered, as well. Additional charges are expected.
Packer was jailed under a bond of $50,000.
