Webb Named Interim Executive Director

Daniel Webb has been named the Interim Executive Director for the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce effective June 1st, 2010.

Over the past year Webb has served the chamber as its Director of Economic Development and Finance.  Webb has been a member of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce staff since August of 2008.

"On behalf of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce it is my pleasure and privilege to announce that Daniel Webb has been selected by the Board of Directors to serve as the Interim Executive Director for the Chamber,” said Mike Watson, Chairman of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

“Many of us were quite surprised as well as concerned to learn of Chad Chancellor's decision to accept a position in Paducah, Kentucky.  There are several projects currently being worked by the Chamber which are considering locating in Lawrence County.

Daniel has been an integral part of these processes thus far and the Board viewed him as the man to continue to take us forward with our recruitment efforts.

I want to personally welcome Daniel in his new position and ask everyone to offer their support and encouragement to him.

With good people working hard together we can make this great county an even better place to live."

Webb was instrumental in the recruitment of Bertolini, Inc., a California based company which is in the process of creating 150 jobs in Lawrenceburg to Lawrence County in late 2008.

Webb also was highly involved in the community’s efforts to secure Modine’s 200 job expansion announced earlier this spring.

“My confidence in Daniel has grown exponentially over the last year and a half of his service as a member of our staff,” said Chad Chancellor, outgoing Chief Executive Officer, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.  “Daniel was with us less than a year before I recommended him for a promotion which entailed him not only managing our recruiting efforts but also our finances.

Just as he was ready for those responsibilities then, he is ready to take the organization to a higher level now.  I witnessed firsthand his passion for the industry with his tireless work ethic in managing the community’s portion of the Modine expansion.

I have extreme confidence in his ability to not only grow jobs for Lawrence County but also to continue to grow the Chamber of Commerce in a fiscally responsible manner.”

“I wish to express my gratitude to the Board of Directors of the Chamber for allowing me this opportunity to grow jobs for Lawrence County,” said Daniel Webb, Interim Executive Director, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

“Over the coming days I will continue to recruit the projects which we are currently working and visit members of our existing industry.

High on my priority list is also to visit stakeholders who may help us recruit industries such as: Tennessee Economic Development Officials, TVA officials, site selection consultants, education officials, and lawmakers, just to name a few.

I believe we must be proactive in our search for industry, not reactive.  We must go find industries looking to expand, rather than waiting for them to find us.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to spend my work days thinking about and working on an agenda to make Lawrence County a better place to live, work, and play.”
