Another Church Targeted By Burglars
Yet another local church as been targeted by burglars - this one in the Summertown area.
Donna Grimes stopped by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Monday evening to report a burglary at Porter’s Chapel Church of God, located on Turnpike Road.
Grimes reported that the front door of the church was damaged as the culprit gained access. Inside, the burglar stole paste symbols, a projector screen, and a two burner hot plate. Loss and damages were said to total $423.
Investigation into the crime has been turned over to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is urged to contact the department at 762-3626.
