Photo Taken While Resident Sleeps

A resident of Claymar Drive in Lawrenceburg made a very disturbing discovery when she awakened alone in her apartment Tuesday morning.

The victim, age 21, placed an urgent 911 call seeking assistance Tuesday. She reported that someone had taken a photo of her during the night while she slept.

The victim told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that she had left her cell phone on her dresser when she went to bed the previous night. She stated that she was alone inside her apartment throughout the night.

After awaking the following morning, the victim said she began browsing through photos of her children she had taken on her cell phone. She was surprised to discover a photo of herself sleeping.

Deputies indicate the photo was dated May 4 at 2:25 a.m., and that it did not appear to have been sent to the telephone by text or other means.

Although the victim could not recall for certain whether she had locked her doors the previous evening, she told deputies she had noticed the insulation around the attic access door in her bedroom closet appeared to have been disturbed. Also, a bottle of her perfume was missing.

The victim told deputies she was confident none of her acquaintances would have done this, and that no one else except her landlord had a key to her apartment.

Deputies have placed a keep watch on the home and indicate the matter has been turned over for intense investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
