Mt Juliet Police Officers responded to reports of a high intensity laser targeting an aircraft, and a tractor trailer.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department issued the following statement on Tuesday regarding laser incident:

"Moments ago, officers tracked down a suspect who pointed a high intensity laser at a passenger aircraft in flight with 136 passengers onboard & a tractor-trailer driver, driving on I-40. The adult male was located in a room at the Quality Inn, at 1000 Hershel Drive.

Dispatchers were first notified by the tractor-trailer driver, who was on I-40, and shortly after the first call, local air traffic control notified dispatchers about the aircraft being targeted with the laser. Officers located a separate witness who directed officers to the hotel room window that the laser was operating from.

The incident remains under investigation."
