Boyfriend Faces Charges Of Kidnapping And Assault

A Lawrenceburg man faces charges of assault and kidnapping in the wake of a domestic assault incident that occurred overnight Thursday.

The victim, age twenty-nine, reported the assault to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department Friday morning. She stated that she and the perpetrator had become involved in an argument the previous evening and she had subsequently left the home.

The victim indicated that she returned Friday morning to find the boyfriend lying in wait in her bedroom. She reported that he struck her on the left side of her face, then threw her across the bedroom into a window. He then reportedly dragged her downstairs. When she attempted to flee, she said he locked the front door then threw her into a sofa.

The victim’s mother, who lives nearby, told officers that she had been looking at the house when she saw her daughter “fly into the window.” She then placed a call for assistance.

Neighbors came to the door to check on the victim. At that point, officers report, the boyfriend allowed the victim to leave. He had already left the residence by the time officers arrived on the scene.

Officers indicated in their report that warrants will be sought against the man, charging him with the crimes of assault and aggravated kidnapping.
