Six Face Charges As Result Of Friday Drug Operation

Six different individuals face drug charges in the wake of a Friday drug operation that took place in the northern portion of the county.

Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report that a search warrant was executed at a home situated at 370 Old North Military Road, Summertown. There, they report that suspects Karen Hannah, Corey Dye, and Justin Dollar were secured, and a search initiated.

During the search, drug agents report locating and seizing a bag containing approximately three ounces of marijuana along with digital scales, a Jennings .22 caliber handgun, two boxes of .22 caliber ammunition, a homemade marijuana bong, two marijuana pipes, a grinder, roller, plastic baggies, 13 Valium pills, hemostats, various other items related to the use and sale of drugs, and $230.00 in currency believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales. In addition, agents report finding a plastic bag that contained marijuana, concealed inside Dollar’s wallet.

While they were conducting the search, drug agents report receiving calls on Hannah’s cell phone. An investigator posed as Dye and conducted a conversation with an individual requesting to purchase $20.00 worth of marijuana. A short time later, they report that Matthew Qinten Isbell arrived at the home, accompanied by a fifteen-year-old juvenile, and completed the buy, purchasing four grams of marijuana for $20.00. Both Isbell and the juvenile were subsequently placed taken into custody.

Shortly, agents report a second such message on Hannah’s cell phone. This time, agents report they received a text message indicating that Benjamin David Cook wished to bring money to Hannah that he owed to her. In addition, he indicated his desire to “pick up a quarter ounce of marijuana.” Agents indicate that Cook made his way to the home, came inside, and handed over $30.00 for the purchase of the marijuana. They report that he was found to be in possession of two pipes used to smoke marijuana, both allegedly containing marijuana residue.

Although they reported receiving several other calls from individuals requesting to purchase marijuana, agents report their search was complete and that they left the premises.

The juvenile was released into the custody of his father. Authorities indicate he will be petitioned into Lawrence County Juvenile Court at a later date.

Evidence against the remaining suspects, they report, will be presented to an upcoming session of the Lawrence County Grand Jury.
