Probationer Arrested With Meth During Traffic Stop

A traffic stop made Sunday afternoon resulted in a man who had been on probation on meth-related charges, garnering yet another meth charge.

Driver David Morris Fly, age 48, was stopped along North Locust Avenue around 1:30 p.m. after a deputy on patrol noticed he had a brake light that was not functioning.

The deputy reports that when he approached the Chevy El-Camino he noticed that Fly appeared to be extremely nervous, and that would not move his left hand away from his left pants pocket.

Fly told the deputy that he was currently on probation for several methamphetamine charges. The deputy reports when he asked Fly to step out of the vehicle he discovered that he had a meth pipe with less than ½ ounce of meth inside concealed in his left front pocket.

Fly was arrested on charges of possession of Schedule II narcotics (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued a citation for violation of the light law.
