Lawrence County Master Gardener Plant Sale Event

It’s that time of year again!  The Lawrence County Master Gardener Association will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on the Agricultural Extension Office grounds at 2385 Buffalo Road in Lawrenceburg. 

This once-a-year event features many hard-to-find and unique plants including heirloom and other popular tomato varieties, Small Fruits, trees, hot and sweet peppers, uncommon annual and perennial flowers, shrubs, Passalong plants, roses, bedding plants and popular herbs. 

There will also be a drawing for a free plant every 15 minutes at the sale.

Local master gardeners, Extension personnel and local subject matter experts will also give several presentations on garden-related topics per the following schedule:

 8:00am  Tomato diseases and pests by Wendel Smith
 9:00am 1.  Treasures from Trash; creations in recycled containers by Glenda Fisher and Patricia Grinnell
             2.  Whimsies for Children; children’s crafts with a gardening theme including gourds, Popsicle-stick flowers, clothespin butterflies, flower pencils and more by Judy White
10:00am 1.  Pollinator Conservation; supporting native bees by Dan and Debbie Eiser
              2.  Introducing the Mason Bee by Wendel Smith
11:00am  Tomato Grafting by Roy Ross

Master gardeners will be available at the sale to share information on proper planting and care of your plants.
