Motorist Reports Attack With Knife

A motorist traveling along a rural Summertown roadway Friday evening told law enforcement officials that a man had emerged from another vehicle and attacked him with a knife.

The driver, a twenty-one-year-old resident of Daley Street, reported through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that he had been approaching the Lentz/North Brace Road intersection when the incident occurred. The driver told deputies that the driver of a red truck pulled in front of him and that the passenger exited through the passenger door.

The victim reported that he opened his door to exit, but that the man lunged at him, weilding a large knife. The knife, deputies report, nicked the victim’s throat.

The victim reportedly exited his vehicle while his attacker waived the knife about in the air in front of him. He allegedly threatened, “he was gonna get it soon.”

When the victim got back into his car, he reports that the man reentered the truck and that the driver pulled away. The victim then returned to his home and placed a call to law enforcement.

The victim, who knew the identity of his attacker, was advised how to obtain a criminal summons so that he might pursue criminal charges.
