Clifton Man Faces Drug Fraud Charge

A Clifton resident was taken into custody on drug fraud charges last week after he allegedly attempted to pass an altered prescription at a Lawrenceburg pharmacy.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers were summoned to Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2101 North Locust Avenue, shortly after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, store employees pointed out the suspect and gave officers the prescription they alleged had been altered. Officers quickly contacted the physician, who verified that the dosage had been changed.

Reports indicate that the prescription had been written for 5 milligram Lortab pills, but that it had been changed to 15 milligrams.

As a result of the incident, Officers took into custody James Gregory Dicus, 41, of 210 Tomahawk Lane, Clifton. Dicus was booked through the Lawrence County Jail under one count of drug fraud. He is slated to answer the charge through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on May 1, 2008.
