Tools And Equipment Stolen From Workshop

   Local law enforcement officials were asked to initiate an investigation Wednesday after a West Point Road resident discovered a large number of tools and equipment had been stolen from his workshop.

   Leldon Clay Shaffer, 66, summoned Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies to his 986 West Point Road home shortly before 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. He told deputies that his workshop had been burglarized sometime in the past three weeks, with items taken from both outside and inside the structure.

   A neighbor reported he had run off two white males on Monday after he noticed they were prowling about in the vicinity of the workshop.

   Missing items include: 

*red Sears, four cylinder garden tiller

*Green Murray, two cylinder, tiller

*Gray, 26”, 18-speed. Murray Mountain bicycle

*Red pressure washer with a Tuscumbi motor.

*Cratsman wrenches and breaker bar

*Stihl chainsaw

*Sears Craftsman, aluminum belt and disc sanders

*Ryobi router and bits

*Aluminum extension ladder

*Stihl reciprocating saw

   Altogether, loss is estimated at $1,482.00.
