Civil War Relic Stolen In Tuesday Burglary
A Lawrence County man requested an investigation by initiated Tuesday when he discovered thieves had entered a home, stealing his prized Civil War relic.
The victim reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that he was in the process of moving from a home located at 944 Ethridge Redhill Road. He said that he returned to the home shortly before 4:30 p.m. to find it had been burglarized.
Reports show the culprit pried open a fireproof safe, taking a collectible Titans football and a Civil War pistol. Loss was said to be near $2,000.
Investigation in the matter has been handed over to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is urged to contact the department at 931-762-3626.
