Local man arrested after assaulting a female victim, and attempting to kick her door in.

Lawrenceburg Police department responded to a call at an Old Florence road residence with reports of a burglary in progress.

After arriving at the residence the responding officers learned that Luke McKinley Dowdy, 27, reportedly had a physical altercation with a female who was still at the residence, and he was asked to leave the residence that's when he attempted to gain entrance by crawling through an unsecured window after trying to kick the door in.

Dowdy was placed under arrest, and while officers finished their investigation Dowdy began beating his head against the cage in the back of the squad car.

The officers transported Dowdy to the local ER where he became irate then began spitting on the officer, but he was treated for his injuries then released from the ER.

Officers then booked Dowdy into the Lawrence County jail, and he was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and domestic assault.
