Pharmacy Alleges Attempted Drug Fraud

   Officials with a Lawrenceburg pharmacy summoned law enforcement agents in recent days to investigate an attempted drug fraud case.

   According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department agents were dispatched to CVS Pharmacy where they spoke with pharmacy officials. They reported that a regular customer had contacted them by telephone earlier, posing as a Rogersville, Alabama, physician. They indicated that the caller had been attempting to obtain a prescription for the drug Soma.

   Pharmacy officials reported they had spoken with the physician in question, and that he indicated he did wish to prosecute.

   The matter remains under investigation at the present time through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
