Thief Tampers With Bank Account Of Loretto Resident

   Investigation was initiated Monday in regards to an unidentified individual tampering with the bank account of a Loretto resident.

   The victim, age 63, reported noticing excessive activity in regards to her Bank of America bank account in late February.

She told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies she contacted bank officials and was told they had already detected three transactions flagged as “suspicious.” These were payments made to alertpay.com and globularsupport.com.

   Thieves, the victim said, were able to remove $658.48 from the account before being caught. She told deputies that the bank is working now to reimburse the funds. Investigation in the matter is currently on-going.
