Traffic stop yields drugs, guns and cash

On Friday March 1, 2019 at approximately 11:30pm, officers with the St Joseph Police department observed a black Ford Mustang traveling north on American Blvd with a malfunctioning tail light.

The officers quickly recognized the vehicle due to it being parked at a local drug house in the city earlier that night. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Hwy 43.

The officers noticed a clear crystal substance, believed to be Methamphetamine, along with a torn clear plastic baggy scattered around the driver in the seat. The subject advised the officers he was armed with a handgun and had a carry permit.

The subject complied with the officers and exited the vehicle.
Upon search of the vehicle officers located approximately 1.25 grams of Methamphetamine, a high powered semi automatic rifle, a Taurus revolver and $800 cash, which were believed to be proceeds of drug money.
The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Lawrence County Detention Center and processed.

William Christopher Davis of Anderson, Al was charged with Possession of Schedule II (METH) and Possession of firearm during the commission of a felony.

William was given a $20,000.00 bond and is set to appear in court at a later date.
