Metals Stolen From Outside Local Industry

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday indicate that a local industry was targeted by metal thieves the previous night.

Jordan Adams filed the complaint Tuesday morning, indicating he had been notified of the crime by his foreman. Adams stated that twelve metal shipping carriers had been stolen from outside the building at Pro Rack, 164 International Drive. The carriers had a collective value of around $2,000.

The foreman told deputies that a man had stopped by the business shortly before to inquire about scrap metal. Although he was not certain who the man was, he was able to provide a description of the man and his vehicle.

Investigation into the matter has been turned over for further scrutiny by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
