Arrest Made In Home Burglary

Lawrence County Sheriff Jimmy Brown issued a press release on Wednesday, indicating that an arrest had been made in connection with a burglary at a Summertown home.

Deputies with the department were dispatched on the burglary call to the 126 Freedom Road home Monday. They found that the majority of the contents had been completely destroyed and the structure itself had sustained severe damages.

Due to the extensiveness of the damage, investigators were summoned to the scene and spent several hours collecting and cataloging evidence.

A police report had been filed the night before the burglary regarding a vehicle that had broken down in that area. “After the scene was processed,” Brown said, “Investigators quickly followed up on the information from the truck incident and developed a suspect.”

Joshua Allyn Francis, age 18, of 161 Freedom Road, Summertown was subsequently arrested on charges of aggravated burglary, theft under $500, and vandalism over $10,000.

He was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was jailed under a bond of $101,000. During court proceedings Wednesday Lawrence County General Sessions Judge Patricia McGuire opted to lower Francis’ bond to $16,000.

Francis is next scheduled for a court appearance on March 14, 2011.
