Five Points Resident Reports Dogs Killed, Ate Newborn Calf
After finding that dogs had attacked her cows Monday, a resident of the Five Points area reported to police officers that she is out around $200.
Deputies were dispatched on an animal traffic call to 28 Gillespie Road Monday where they spoke with resident Willa Dee Gillespie. Gillespie told deputies she had been notified of the matter by a neighbor who had telephoned to say that dogs were attacking and killing her cows.
Gillespie said she went outside and discovered that two black dogs and one red/brown dog were eating one of her newborn Angus calves.
Later, Gillespie updated the reporting deputy, saying she had been able to track down owners of two of the dogs, and that they had offered to pay for the calf.
