Authorities Look Into Another Pet Shooting Incident
Law enforcement officials have been asked to investigate another incident involving the shooting of family pets, this one at a home on Westside Road.
The victim, age 30, reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Friday that three of her pets had sustained gunshot wounds.
Reports show that the victim’s cat had sustained a gunshot wound to the back. One of her Golden Retrievers was shot in the neck, the other in the hind leg.
The victim told deputies that she had sought veterinarian care, but that she felt the wounds were not life-threatening.
Investigation in the case is currently continuing through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information should contact the department at 931-762-3626.
