Officers Intervene In Ruckus At Theater

Police officers were dispatched to sort things out when a ruckus broke out between the owner of a local theater and a patron.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers were dispatched to Crockett Cinemas, 2128 North Locust Avenue, shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Owner Joe Collis Rhoton, III, 44, of 3140C Highway 52, Bethpage, reported that a patron who had caused problems at the theater two weeks prior had been asked to leave. Reports indicate the teen had returned that evening “to apologize for his behavior.” The teen told officers that Rhoton then begun hitting him.

Rhoton told officers that he was only attempting to stop the teen from opening the trunk of his car, because he had made statements, indicating he had a gun. Rhoton told officers that during the incident, the teen had dragged him several feet with his car.

No charges were filed at the time reports were completed. The matter remains under investigation currently through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
