Thieves Ransack, Burglarize Home
Burglars targeted a Martin Road home last week, ransacking the premises and stealing several items.
The victim, age 50, reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies that the culprit had broken a window on the lower level of his residence to gain access. He said that the lower level had been ransacked, but that nothing there appeared to be missing.
Deputies report that the burglar moved to the upper level, breaking a window in order to gain entry. This area, too, had been ransacked.
The owner listed the following items as missing: .22 Smith & Wesson revolver, 9 mm Makarov semi automatic, Revolution 20 gauge shotgun, .380 Smith & Wesson, semi automatic pistol, binoculars, walkie talkies, and a jar full of change.
Damages and loss totaled nearly $1,300.
