Detailed Agenda For Regular Session Meeting Of County Commission

The following statement was released by County Commissioner Chris D. Jackson, Chairman of the Lawrence County Technology Committee:

"Two years ago, the county commission passed new transparency guidelines whose stated goal was to make Lawrence County Government more open and accessible to the public.

Since that time, we have made great strides with publishing important and relevant information on our official website for public consumption.  (http://www.lawrencecountytn.gov/)

Starting this month, we are taking another step in the right direction on transparency when will publish a detailed agenda for our Regular Session meeting which will be January 28th.

The agenda (click here for the agenda) is the exact same packet each commissioner will have at the meeting. So you will now have all the information we have when we make decisions for our county.

Publicizing this detailed agenda is important because the public deserves to know how and why we arrive at the decisions we do at our meetings. After all, every action we take is in the name of the people of Lawrence County, so it is key that we make these decisions in an open and accountable manner.
