Authorities Say Mom Assaulted, Baby Endangered

Police reports say that a Lawrenceburg man endangered his infant son while assaulting the baby’s mother on Friday.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the domestic assault incident at 8:11 p.m. at 3171 Buffalo Road.

Reports show that the victim, age 30, had made arrangements with her ex-boyfriend, Michael Anthony Hill, 30, to pickup their son outside his home. When she arrived, she said she sent a text message, asking that he bring the infant to the car.

The victim told deputies that they began to argue while Hill was buckling the child into his car seat. She stated he threw the diaper bag, in which he had packed a bowl, toward her and both landed on the head/face of their nine-month-old son.

The victim told deputies Hill grabbed her by the face while she was sitting inside her car and began hitting her.

Hill disputed the statement, saying that the victim had picked up the bowl and hit him in the jaw. He told deputies that he picked it up and threw it back at her.

Deputies noted that the victim was bleeding out of her ear and nose, had a swollen eye, and scratches on her arms and hands.

As a result of the investigation Hill was arrested on charges of domestic assault and child abuse/endangerment. He was booked through the Lawrence County Detention Center, but was later released on bond. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on February 7, 2011.
