Lawrenceburg Man Is Target Of Credit Card Fraud

   Local law enforcement officials have launched an investigation in an attempt to identify the culprit who has been using a Lawrenceburg man’s credit card without his permission.

   The sixty-nine-year-old victim filed a complaint regarding the crime through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday. He told deputies that someone had used his credit card four separate times on January 14 to rack up charges totaling around $300.

   The victim’s card, reports indicate, was used to make a donation to the American Red Cross, to make a purchase through a PayPal account, and to make two separate purchases from www.voip.com.

   Investigation into the matter is continuing at the present time through the department’s Crime Suppression Unit. Anyone who has information that might assist authorities in the investigation is urged to contact the department at 762-3626.
