Search For Missing Woman's Body Begins After Couple Is Charged With Her Murder

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today charged a Wayne County, TN couple with first degree murder for the death of the mother of their grandchild who’s been missing for a week.

Several southern Middle Tennessee agencies are currently involved in a recovery effort to locate the victim’s body.

Steven Beersdorf, 46 , and Sylvia Beersdorf, 43, 1099 Swinging Bridge Road, Waynesboro, TN are both charged with first degree murder and have been booked into the Lawrence County jail without bond.

The victim, 21-year-old Rosemary Goggins, also of 1099 Swinging Bridge Road, Waynesboro, TN was their son’s finace and the mother of their 11-month-old grandson.

Goggins burned up car was discovered Friday morning on a rural road in McNairy County, TN. The child’s father, Steven Beersdorf Jr., is currently home, on leave from the military.

The TBI along with the FBI, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
