A West Point man was taken into custody by police officers in Wayne County Wednesday after they found he was sleeping inside his car near schools, while in possession of illegal drugs.

Waynesboro police officers report approaching Roy Zebulon Buie, age 33 of 106 Bluff Drive, West Point, on Belew Hollow Road, behind Wayne County Elementary and Middle Schools.

During the search officers seized two bags containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine along with fifteen Claritin-D pills, three syringes, items of drug paraphernalia and some $620 cash.

Buie was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to resale, promotion of the manufacture of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail where he was being held under a bond of $127,500.
