Council To Consider Contract During Thursday Meeting

   Members of the board that governs the City of Lawrenceburg are scheduled to meet in regular session Thursday morning to consider three items of business.

   The sole ordinance appearing on the agenda for the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council meeting is second and final reading regarding the establishment and equalization of speed limits throughout the city.

   Two resolutions are scheduled for consideration. The first would allow the board to apply for Community Development Black Grant funds to assist with the cost of rehabilitating city sewer basins #s 6 and 11. The second resolution seeks to have the board enter into a contract agreement with George Clanton Construction Company, “for the renovation of the rest rooms at the Crockett Theater Welcome Center.”

   Also on the agenda, LaShawn Baxter is scheduled to address the board regarding the city’s on-going Spay and Neuter Program.

   The meeting, which is open to the public, is slated to get underway at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009, inside the commission meeting room of the Lawrenceburg City Administration Building on West Gaines Street.
