Three Arrested For Manufacturing Meth

A Lawrenceburg man and Giles County couple have been taken into custody for allegedly operating a meth lab inside a Choates Creek home.

The raid was conducted through the Giles County Sheriff’s Department Friday afternoon. Giles County officials report that, at the time of the raid, the trio was in the process of manufacturing the drug methamphetamine.

Giles County Fire and Rescue’s Haz-Mat Team was called to the scene to decontaminate the suspects prior to transport to the Giles County Jail. A Haz-Mat Unit from Nashville was then dispatched to undertake the cleanup process.

Lawrenceburg resident Donald Katevas was arrested at the scene, along with Giles’ County’s John and Jessica Ratliff.

Officials indicated that at the time Katevas was on probation through Lawrence County for other meth-related charges.

The Ratliff’s were arrested in months for operating another meth lab near the Giles/Lawrence County border, with their young children present. The children were removed from the custody of their parents at that time.

The Ratliff’s had been free under bond at the time of the Friday arrest. The couple is still involved in court proceedings regarding the first offence.
