Summertown Home Targeted By Burglars

Residents of a Lentz Road home in Summertown arrived home Wednesday evening to find that they had fallen victim to burglars.

The couple reported that when they entered their home shortly before 7:00 p.m. they found that several of their belongings had been moved onto the living room floor.

The male resident said that he had attempted to turn on the porch light and discovered that the light bulb had been unscrewed.

Deputies found that the front door had been pried and the rear door had been left unlocked. Electronics had been pulled out of the entertainment center and other areas of the home and placed on the living room floor.

The residents reported that several items were missing including a Nintendo 3DS and games, movies, medications, eyeglasses, jewelry, and a digital camera. Reports show that nearly every drawer had been opened and searched.

Loss and damages resulting from the crime were estimated at around $4,000.

A neighbor reported seeing a tan or gold colored truck bearing temporary tags in the vicinity during the time period when the crime occurred.

Detectives are continuing to investigate. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is encouraged to contact the department at 931-762-3626.
