Neighbors Report Similar Thefts

   Neighbors along a Lawrenceburg roadway reported very similar thefts to police officers on Wednesday.

   Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to 155 West Road just after 7:00 p.m. The resident reported someone had stolen a five-gallon glass jug full of coins from a bedroom inside his home.

He told officers he had last seen the jug a week before while putting his change inside. He estimated loss to be $510. He also informed officers that a neighbor had been the victim of a very similar crime.

   At 189 West Road, the resident reported someone had stolen a coin container and coin counter, along with a camcorder. She told officers she had at first believed she had misplaced the items. Once she spoke with her neighbor, however, she realized the crimes might be linked. She reported losses of $420.

   In both instances officers reported there were no signs of forced entry. Investigation into the matter has been relinquished to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
