Thieves Take Cash Register, Cigarettes
Burglars targeted another Lawrenceburg business overnight Tuesday, making off with the cash register and a large number of cigarettes.
Reports show that an officer with the Lawrenceburg Police Department made the discovery around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday while checking various buildings. He reports finding that a glass door had been shattered at Music Trip, located at 909 North Locust Avenue
The business owner came to the scene and reported that the cash register was missing along with some rolled coins, and a large number of cigarettes. She estimated her loss to be around $1,500.
Officers were called back to the business later that day. The owner reported that she had found her cash register behind the building.
The register, which had been busted into several pieces, was found in some weeds near the railroad tracks. Officers also found a discarded cardboard box that contained empty cigarette displays.
Investigation into the burglary is currently on-going, as is the investigation into a number of similar crimes committed recently.
Large quantities of cigarettes were stolen during those crimes, as well. Anyone who has information regarding any of the crimes should contact the department at 931-762-2276.
