Charges Pending In Drug Operation

   Charges are pending against a Lawrenceburg man in connection with a drug operation undertaken by members of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday.

   According to a press release issued through that department, the operation came about as the result of a tip regarding illegal drug activity inside the 27 Adkins Lane home.

   When they requested permission to conduct a search of the premises, officials report the homeowner acquiesced. During the search, drug agents report finding several bags that contained approximately seven ounces of “what is believed to be methamphetamine or meth cut.”

   Officers also report seizing two sets of digital scales, three meth pipes, two torch lighters, a small amount of marijuana and a number of empty bags that bore white powder residue.

   Officials report that an individual staying at the home, Frankie Thornton, claimed ownership of all the contraband. As a result, they report that they will seek charges of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of resale, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia through the Lawrence County Grand Jury.
