Lawrenceburg Now
Theft
A Polaris RZR 800 was reported stolen from a home on Rascaltown Road in Loretto Thursday. The owner said it was stolen from behind a fence. The person responsible pried open the doors, causing some damage, as well. Altogether, loss and damages were set at $12,050.
Burglary
On Wednesday deputies spoke with a Quail Drive resident who reported a $300 loss at the hands of thieves. The resident reported that someone had entered two unlocked vehicles at their home, making off with around $25 cash from each along with a .22 caliber Marlin rifle out of the garage. The garage door, he said, had also been left unsecured.
Theft
A headlight was reportedly stolen off of a Volkswagen Bug in the Summertown area, resulting in a loss to the owner of approximately $150.
Theft from vehicle
A fifty-seven year old Leoma woman filed a complaint with deputies, indicating that her purse had been stolen out of her vehicle the previous night. The purse contained various cards, checkbook, and $2,500 cash.
Burglary
Deputies were asked to investigate Christmas Eve when a resident of Ridge Lane discovered her home had been burglarized. Reports show that the perpetrator entered the house and broke into a safe in a closet. One lock box was opened and $300 cash stolen. Deputies found no scratches or signs of forced entry. The resident said that on several recent occasions she thought she heard someone inside the house and that several small items had gone missing.
Vehicle burglary
Deputies are looking into the burglary of a vehicle that occurred on Ethridge Red Hill Road. The victim reported he had run out of gasoline around 9:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. When he returned the following day he found that someone had busted the rear window out of his Ford Explorer, stealing 12 cases of drinks, a box of watches and knives, and a tool set. He said the vehicle hatch was also damaged. Loss and damages were estimated at $710.
Vehicle burglary
A Quail Drive resident reported Christmas Day that his vehicle had been burglarized. He told deputies that he had noticed the driver side seat pushed up inside his truck. Inside, he found that his Ruger 10/22 long rifle and Hi Point 9mm pistol were missing. Three magazine clips for both guns were missing, as well. $450.
Vehicle burglary
A 7mm-08 Savage rifle was reported stolen out of a truck at a Quail Drive residence. The owner said the theft occurred overnight Christmas Eve. Loss was said to be $425.
Theft
Residents of a Gimlet Road home filed a complaint with deputies Wednesday indicating that a black and silver mini dirt bike had been stolen off of their carport. It was apparently taken during a four hour period when they were away from the house. Loss was estimated at $200.
